Printing With a Purpose

Here at APC Cardiovascular, we believe in helping to give back to the local community wherever we can. One of the ways in which we do this is supporting social enterprise businesses such as NMC Design+Print, who in turn provide us with a fantastic graphic design and print management service.

“Profits generated go back into the charity so, by working with us, APC Cardiovascular also support a great cause,” says Alison Evans, Sales Manager for NMC Design+Print.

“We have been working together since 2020 and have produced a wide variety of marketing materials including business stationery, pull-up banners, flyers, booklets, and postcards. We enjoy working with the marketing team at APC Cardiovascular and have developed a creative, open, and reciprocal approach that allows each party to contribute to get the best results from each design job.”

We operate at the heart of the Neuromuscular Centre (NMC): the Centre of Excellence for people and families affected by neuromuscular conditions. The charity is the only one of its kind in the UK and offers much-needed physiotherapy, support, advice, training, and employment opportunities for people living with these muscle-wasting conditions. Neuromuscular conditions are relatively rare, and the families affected often feel alone or misunderstood; as a result, a key value of NMC is community. We recognise that peer support is often a vital resource, and we aim to bring people together, through events, workshops, and community activities, to help individuals form a support network of people that understand and care.

As a social enterprise, our goals stretch much further than simply making money. We provide employment and voluntary opportunities for people with neuromuscular conditions and offer a completely accessible working environment. We are driven to prove that disability does not have to be a barrier to a successful career in the creative industry. We are keen to encourage young people with disabilities to pursue their career aspirations, but also to demonstrate, to other employers, the benefits of a diverse and inclusive culture within the workplace.
